Best Archer Follower Skyrim: The Complete List of Every Archer Follower and Where to Find Them

Other than the player, of course, Aela the Huntress is perhaps the best archer in Skyrim. Why shouldn't the two best dead-eyes in the business get together? Don't let Aela's unapologetic lycanthropy be a mark against her, either. The player can become a werewolf too midway through the Companions questline.

From: xGenocidest #006Finish the Dark Brotherhood Quest line, upgrade the hideout to max, and you'll have the best follower in the game IMO.Don't have to worry about AoE spells, neither of the Initiates can die and they won't leave your service for attacking them.Give them a staff and they'll dual-wield it with a one-handed weapon, or just take the weapon away and they'll use the bow primarily.*edit* They level with you all the way to 81, too.

Best Archer Follower Skyriml

I'm having a hard time finding a list containing followers who are high skilled in archery. I need a bunch of them to experiment a team of archers following me. In case anyone's wondering I'm using a mod to get up to 10 followers.

Whether it's because they are immensely helpful in an array of combat situations or just because one of them has us wondering how to get married in Skyrim, what you'll find below are our pick of the best Skyrim companions. Whatever you're after, get one of these followers on your side and your adventure will be all the better because of it.

A well-rounded follower, Aela, a loyal Nord werewolf, becomes available once you complete the Companions questline. Not only is she great with a bow for long-distance attacks, but she is decent enough with one-handed weapons for melee attacks. At her level cap of 50, her Sneak skill reaches 97 (thanks to her thief classification), making her the best Skyrim follower for sneaky thieves and stealthy archers.

Players will first meet Durak when he approaches them about recruitment into the Dawnguard, and also gives them a crossbow and 45 steel bolts in Dayspring Canyon. This proactiveness and generosity is just a small window into Durak's many positive traits, the list of which includes no level cap, perks that benefit his primary skills, and his excellent archer/sniper skills. As such, he's easily among the best followers in Skyrim.

Jenassa is a Dunmer ranger who you can meet early on in the Drunken Huntsman shop located in Whiterun. For 500 gold, you can have her as a follower, and her abilities are nothing to sneeze at. Jenassa is a skilled archer with great aim and is also one of the few followers who can dual wield weapons. Her level caps at 40 and her morality is also very flexible, willing to commit any crime (as mercenaries often do).

If that wasn't enough, Jenassa is truly likable (as well as marriageable), which doesn't matter in combat. But it matters in every moment in between the combat, and isn't the whole experience what counts? Given how easy she is to recruit, she ranks high among the best followers in Skyrim.

She may be the subject of countless memes, especially for her annoying ability to get in the Dragonborn's way at the most inopportune moments. However, Lydia remains one of the best followers in the game for a player who is looking for a strong combat-focused ally. She is also a marriage candidate for those who can get past her gruff exterior.

Possibly the best warrior-type follower available in Skyrim, Frea is a Skaal shaman who lives on Solstheim. She is fighting to free her people from Miraak's influence over the land and will join the player in their quest to vanquish the first Dragonborn.

She also boasts a decent combination of magical and non-magical skills to aid the Dragonborn in combat. For these reasons, among many others, Serana is quite possibly the best follower available in Skyrim. Serana is unique in that she doesn't act like the other companions in the game, but more like an autonomous entity.

These weapons also contribute to a player's perks, which they can purchase these perks using skill points obtained by leveling up. For players that use a bow, facing the dangers of Skrim can be scary. They must utilize the archery skill tree to its best potential. Some perks are considerably greater than others for most bow-wielders.

The Steady Hand perk is easily the best perk for archers in the game. One of the most difficult parts of archery within Skyrim is simply being able to hit your opponent, especially when they're moving. Because of this, the Steady Hand perk, which players can unlock at an archery level of 40, can provide an incredible hand when it comes to shooting arrows at enemies. Steady Hand allows the player to slow down time when zooming in with their bow.

As we've mentioned, Light Armor functions best for sword 'n' shield players, archers, and stealthy players. That being said, the addition of Deathbrand Armor in the Dragonborn DLC has introduced the 'Deathbrand' playstyle for Light Armor wearers, meaning duel-wielding is finally a very valid option without requiring Heavy Armor for protection.

These followers come in all shapes and sizes, as there are dozens upon dozens that can help you complete the quests you face. Before starting your journey, you should take the time to find the follower you like the most. Here are some of the best followers you can find in The Elder Scrolls V:

Generally speaking, Cicero, Frea, Mjoll and Serana are the essential followers with good stats to offer, but Frea and Serana will require DLC. But ultimately, the choice of the best companion will depend on your play style, and your personal preferences, of course.

Well, of course, this list of Skyrim best followers is not all inclusive, and there are other good characters you are encouraged to try; but if you are just starting out and want someone reliable, this list is to help you.

But it's not a bad idea to travel with one. When you get caught out in the open, you might appreciate the help that a strong follower can provide. A beefy warrior follower such as Mjoll or Farkus is best.

You can also have non-humanoid followers such as dogs, steadfast Dwarven spiders, rieklings, and armored trolls. While there are players who like to go solo and you can definitely do the same, here is a list of best Skyrim followers for those who have different ideas.10. Faendal is a wood elf and can be found very early in the game in Riverwood. Faendal is an archer and will offer to train the player up to level 50, but charges thousands of gold in exchange for lessons. Gaining him as a follower, however, will grant the player access to his inventory, including his stash of gold.

It's hard not to select the Atronach stone, isn't it? It's my favorite stone too, but I often mod it so I get absolutely no regen, or I really try to get me some witbane, because I dislike that it is essentially a non-penalty stone whereas in other games, it really had a penalty. You also have the shield, so IMO, that plus the atronach stone is a little overkill. Once you have Elemental protection and all your shield perks, it really isn't necessary depending on your difficulty. Another, spicier choice would've been the Apprentice stone. I know ouch, but as a support build, your magic is for your follower, not for you, so the Apprentice would be an interesting choice that would also synergize well with the extra magic regen from the Restoration perks and your robes, making you a little magicka battery. Choosing to sacrifice yourself so that you can best serve your follower. In fact, I probably would've ditched flesh spells too and opted instead for paralyze. Immobilizing enemies makes it easier for your follower to kill them. Make it all about them and supporting, not you. Or, go a different direction, forego Alteration and pick up Illusion, using Call to Arms and Rally while using fear against their opponents. Besides, if they are doing their job properly, you won't take the hits and your shield perks will be more than enough. Mara would get down with that. Or, go darker and use the Ritual Stone, which has a lore connection to a darker side of Mara. Mara's Nord Totem is also represented as a wolf, an interesting choice for the Goddess of love, compassion, family, loyalty and agriculture. Very logical to the martial Nords, but severely watered down for the Imperial Pantheon.

"As for Jenassa, she's the easiest-to-get starting follower one can get early on. As the build relies on followers rather heavily, it is pretty much necessary to get one early on. Not to mention, I'm almost certain she's the best archer follower outside of Aela and Cicero. Sure, she is a bit shady, but I don't remember her mentioning anything about Morag Tong. It can be role-played as showing her a brighter path of life. I'm not THAT big on roleplaying tho." 2ff7e9595c
